It's easy to get around town from La Trobe or RMIT. The 86 tram runs right up Plenty Road, with stops out the front of both Universities. Although the tram line ends out the front of RMIT, the 86 tram goes directly through the city(going along Elizabeth Street) and ends out near the Docklands.

There are several local buses running throughout the area.
